The FMCSA charges $300 per authority to apply for operating authority. That is a real government fee, it is separate from anything here, and no filing service can waive it.
We mention it because a low filing price is easy to misread as “no government fees at all”. If you are applying for authority you will pay the $300 to the FMCSA directly, on top of whatever your process agent charges.

Why do BOC-3 prices vary so much?
Because you are buying a service, not a government product. Some providers sell the filing on its own; others bundle it into a wider compliance package, or charge annually to cover re-filing later. A higher price is not necessarily worse value — but it is worth knowing which of those you are paying for.
Is there an ongoing cost?
