What does UCR 2026 cost?

UCR is priced in bands by the number of commercial motor vehicles you operate. Each price below is the total you pay us, and it already includes the state registration fee — there is nothing further to pay afterwards.

Prices cover the 2026 registration year. The state portion is set annually by the Unified Carrier Registration Plan and was last checked against plan.ucr.gov/fee-brackets on 2 August 2026.

How it works

We submit your registration and email you confirmation once it is on record.

When is it due?

Registration must be completed and the fee paid before 1 January of the registration year. The window typically opens on 1 October of the preceding year.

Missing the deadline does not remove the obligation — the fee is still owed, and you become exposed to state enforcement action. Because UCR compliance is checked at roadside, an unregistered carrier tends to find out the expensive way.

UCR vs BOC-3 — what's the difference?

They get confused constantly. Both are tied to interstate operating authority, but they do completely different jobs — and you may well need both.

An annual registration

Filed with your base state every year, priced by fleet size, and funding state safety enforcement. It renews annually.

BOC-3

A one-time designation

Names the process agent who can accept legal papers for you in each state. Filed once, and the FMCSA will not grant operating authority without it.
